Formal objection to Port One extention

I have submitted a formal objection to the proposed extension of Port One Logistics Park due to serious concerns about the transport evidence supporting the application.

While I recognise the importance of jobs and economic growth, the Transport Assessment provided by the developer relies on outdated data, limited traffic surveys and contains clear gaps in the modelling of key junctions. For a development of this scale, that simply isn’t good enough.

I am particularly concerned about the potential impact on local roads such as the B1113 and Bramford Road, which could see a significant increase in heavy goods vehicle traffic if this proposal goes ahead.

Before this application can be properly considered, the developer must provide modern traffic surveys, a Stage 1 Road Safety Audit for the proposed highway works, and a comprehensive travel plan covering the entire logistics park. The plans must also demonstrate safe and suitable provision for pedestrians and cyclists.

Major developments must be supported by robust evidence and safe infrastructure. At present, this application falls short of that standard.
