Bullen Lane Ditch Works Completed

I’m pleased to confirm that the ditch works along Bullen Lane have now been completed — a significant milestone in our ongoing work to reduce flood risk in Bramford.

As part of this project, we have:

  1. Re-established 1.8km of ditch along Bullen Lane to improve water capacity and flow

  2. Surveyed drainage pipes under Bullen Lane and The Street to identify and address blockages

  3. Regraded and desilted the Flindell Drive ditch, restoring its effectiveness

  4. Worked with local residents along the storm course to ensure culverts are kept clear

  5. Collaborated with landowners to reduce field run-off contributing to highway flooding

This has been a coordinated effort focused on tackling the causes of flooding, not just the symptoms. While no scheme can remove flood risk entirely, these works significantly improve drainage resilience and help protect homes, roads, and the wider community.

Thank you to residents and landowners for their cooperation and patience while this important work was carried out. We’ll continue to monitor the area and take action where further improvements are needed.
