It Starts With You

I am standing for re-election to Suffolk County Council, continuing to represent Gipping Valley Division.

Serving our community has been one of the greatest privileges of my life. From day one, I have taken the responsibility seriously. I have worked to be present, accessible and proactive, making sure residents know who their councillor is and how to reach me when something needs sorting.

We will not always agree on every issue. What I hope you do know is this. I will always stand up for our area and act in what I believe are the best interests of our communities.

I have also been asked repeatedly whether I intend to switch to another party. I will not. I was elected as a Conservative and I will win or lose as one. Too many politicians change party because they fear losing or lack the political and moral compass to stand firm. I believe in standing on your record and letting the people decide.

Local elections are not about national party political arguments. You cannot stop the boats from Suffolk County Council. You cannot influence the weakness of the national government from the County Council chamber. Local elections are about knowing your councillor, understanding who they are, and deciding whether that person can make a positive impact in our community. I firmly believe I am that person for Gipping Valley.

Over the coming months I will be out across the division, speaking to residents and setting out my case for your vote.
